Finding ways to make words sparkle
This is the blog of a woman who is seriously on the edge and I mean right ON the edge…no, not there… just a little bit further… further than that…no, further still…just a tiny bit more… just move slightly to the right a little…no, that’s too much…just move a tad to the left…that’s right, just there…now you’ve moved too far to the left… Damn, what part of the ‘on the edge’ do you not understand? Oh, and her matricidal boy genius, come devil spawn.
Or the three people I guilted into reading this blog, whatever.
Growing older is inevitable. Growing up is optional.
I may make you feel, but I can't make you think.

I love the way you could take such a serious-looking picture and create such a humorous tale, Russell. But, I shouldn't have been surprised, either. 🙂

Loved your story, Russell. I wasn't thinking of Olive Oyle, I was thinking of a supermodel not a movie star, hahaha.

Ha, too cute, loved the voices, and the last line. Olive Oyle, indeed. Grandpappy – pappy, popeye? Cute, and subtle enough that those of us who grew up with it know, but it's a sweet tale nonetheless.Mine:http://writetuit.wordpress.com/2012/03/24/flash-friday-kill-shot/

Hi Russell,It seems we both chose to do grandpa stories. Your story reminds me of the stories my dad and uncles used to tell. They were whoppers just like this one. Don't know if you made this one up or borrowed it from the past, but it sounds genuine. Here's mine if you haven't read it. If you have, thanks!http://bridgesareforburning.wordpress.com/

This was new. My Dad & Uncles were great stories tellers too. That must be where you and I inherited the desire to tell tales (especially tall ones).
