Last Tuesday night, I had the great privilege of reading one of my short stories on Tales From the South, a weekly public radio show syndicated by World Radio Network. This program airs around the globe making it available to more than 130 million listeners worldwide.
This piece was originally titled “My First Day of School.” I hope you enjoy it.

Finding ways to make words sparkle
This is the blog of a woman who is seriously on the edge and I mean right ON the edge…no, not there… just a little bit further… further than that…no, further still…just a tiny bit more… just move slightly to the right a little…no, that’s too much…just move a tad to the left…that’s right, just there…now you’ve moved too far to the left… Damn, what part of the ‘on the edge’ do you not understand? Oh, and her matricidal boy genius, come devil spawn.
Or the three people I guilted into reading this blog, whatever.

That’s a tale that’s worth it’s weight in pie, Russell. Bravo!
Thanks, LA. I had a great time reading at TFTS. Maybe I’ll get that pie yet!
If/when you read again and it’s taped, post that video, too. No way would I have watched some guy read for 8+ minutes if I wasn’t enjoying what I was hearing. As you know Russell, I only like men for their minds. That was a fun story.
You’re in luck. Here’s my reading from September. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XT-c1sZu12c
